Aphasia
Do you have difficulty getting words out or understanding what someone has said? Aphasia is difficulty understanding others and/or expressing one's self. Dysarthria is difficulty articulating your speech due to neuromuscular changes leading to slurred speech, speaking too slowly, too quickly, or too quietly.
More to Say...
Aphasia can feel like your words are just out of reach—like you know what you want to say, but the connection from your brain to your voice isn’t cooperating. It often happens after a stroke or brain injury, and it can affect speaking, understanding, reading, or writing. At True Self Speech Therapy, we work closely with individuals and their families to rebuild those connections, one step at a time. As a speech therapists specially trained in aphasia recovery, we bring both clinical expertise and heartfelt care to each session. Together, we focus on what matters most to you—whether that’s having a conversation with a loved one, returning to work, or simply finding your words again.
